All across the island, you can see all types of shattered dolls dangling eerily from the trees. The island’s former owner, Julián Santana Barrera, hung all of them from the trees because she thought they would ward off the soul of a girl who had drowned long ago.
Weird and unsettling, the island Mexico could use an island that isn’t so strange and unsettling.
It would be perfect for a horror film, so why not use it?
2 Blood Falls in Antarctica
According to scientific standards, this waterfall is actually saline water with an excess of iron oxide. However, the name comes from the fact that the falls look like they are flowing blood because of their red tint.
Warm colors and blood in Antarctica? It’s hard to fathom, isn’t it?
Despite appearances, this is not fiction but fact.
3 Indian Skeleton Lake
This lake, officially called Roopkund, is very typical of lakes everywhere; yet, when the snow melts, visitors can see hundreds of human bones from the 9th century at the lake’s bottom.
Hail caused the bones to settle into that spot. Large tennisball-sized hail fell from the sky.

Its pink hue makes this lake stand out. The glossy pink sheen of this lake is not an optical illusion, but rather the result of the algae that inhabit there. It is quite safe to swim in, even if it has a strange color.
It does stand out from the other lakes, that much is true. This kind of lake didn’t even exist to me.
Truly, it is rather lovely. Believe me when I say it doesn’t taste as nice as it looks.
